They claim no kinship at all even though Louis Comfort was the son of Charles. ![]() ![]() (To add further confusion to the Tiffany story, "Tiffany Studios" marked items are treated as "Foreign objects" by Tiffany & Co when you try to get anything authenticated by the Tiffany & co people in New Jersey. (If anyone had any insite please post them here.) No one really seems to know the true differentiations of the two entities nor just howmuch Patek played a part in these early watches. (No I did not take it apart to see if all numbers matched) But I have owned "Tiffany Geneva" watches over 2000 serial numbers higher than that. Many books suggest that Tiffany closed their workshop around the 12,000 serial number range. became known by that name in 1894, and is still in operation today (although by different ownership), so contacting them. (Tiffany says "Patek Philippe store and workshops were shared with Tiffany in Geneva in 1851) A serial number resource I found online also puts SN150K at 1910 and 175K at 1915, so I'm guessing 160K would be around 1912, all things being equal. Osvaldo Patrizzi writes that Patek and Tiffany shared a building in those early years. I have read lots of speculation about their "own factory" in Geneva. I have seen so much writen about Tiffany GENEVa, products and TIFFANY NEW YORK products and TIffany by Patek Products.
